Appenzeller exhibition cheesemaking centre

"A hearty welcome to the Appenzeller exhibition cheesemaking centre". Or its equivalent in broad Swiss dialect! During the tour you can look directly into the 6,000 litre cheese vat, where the milk is prepared and the harp-like cheese slice is drawn through the setting mass. And don't forget to taste a piece of Appenzeller cheese!

Bentele Schnapps Distillery

in Egg in the Bregenzerwald

Visit the Bregenzerwald's bee-keeping centre and exhibition schnapps distillery. In Vorarlberg the distilling of top-grade spirits has a centuries-old tradition. Interested visitors to the centre can learn all there is to know about bee-keeping techniques, bees, honey and, naturally, about the background of the production of schnapps and liqueurs.

Schoppernau mountain cheese-making centre in the Bregenzerwald

Part and parcel of the village of Schoppernau, the traditional almland dairy will provide a valuable insight into mountain cheesemaking. From behind a glass wall visitors can watch the cheesemaker at work making the cheese, and the robot caring for it afterwards!

Hagnau Wine Growers' Association on Lake Constance

The sleepy wine village of Hagnau nestles among the gently sloping vineyards on the sunny side of Lake Constance, not far from Meersburg. Join a guided tour of the cellars to learn more about the traditional work in the vineyards, followed by a wine-tasting session.

 

The Tettnang Museum of Hops

The Museum of Hops effectively combines information about a modern hop-growing industry with a lovingly presented museum. Hops - from planting to drinking!
