This is one of the most stunning sections of the legendary Glacier Express, over the Albula pass into the Engadine valley.

The Karren cable car in Dornbirn

Dornbirn's local mountain,the Karren, towers dizzily over the town. And if that weren't enough, even the mountain restaurant gives the impression that it's hanging over the edge. By the way, you can walk back down to the bottom station of the cable car through the Rappenloch gorge.

The Säntis cable car

You feel almost weightless as the cable car sweeps you up to the top of the Säntis. During the 10 minute ride, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Schwägalp, far below.

Glacier Express - Andermatt

The Glacier Express is probably the best known express train in the world. For the entire length of its route from Zermatt to St. Moritz, the train makes its way past rocky hillsides, forests and alpine meadows, and crosses innumerable rushing streams.  The section between Andermatt and Chur follows a sensational route over the Oberalp pass and through the Rhine gorge, constituting what is arguably the highlight of the entire trip.
