Take a circular trip around the Swabian Sea (the nickname for Lake Constance), and through the three countries bordering it (Switzerland, Germany and Austria). There are countless sightseeing opportunities, ranging from exciting museum visits to breathtaking wonders of nature.

The medieval quarter, Feldkirch

Feldkirch's delightful old quarter is the best preserved medieval town in Vorarlberg, bridging the centuries in its own indefinable way. Lying at the foot of the formidable Schattenburg castle, the narrow winding streets just call out to be explored.

Alpine zoo, Feldkirch

Feldkirch alpine zoo offers a unique chance to see all kinds of wild animals, such as marmots, eagles and ibex to mention just a few. A perfect place for families!

The Isle of Mainau

The nicest way of reaching the "Flowering Isle" of Mainau is definitely by boat. Quite apart from the unrivalled flower gardens, there is a lot more to discover here. This little island paradise is owned by the Bernadottes, who are descended from the Swedish royal family.

The island town of Lindau

Lindau is the most south-westerly town in Bavaria, and one of the region's leading tourist centres. This historical town, set on an island in Lake Constance, is linked to its leafy suburbs on the mainland by a bridge and a railway embankment. A walk along the harbour, with the mountains of Switzerland as a backdrop, is stunning.

The principality of Liechtenstein

The principality of Liechtenstein, sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria in the centre of Europe, is of both historical and cultural interest. Let this little state work its magic on you, and prepare to be amazed!

Lucerne, on the lake of the same name

The town of Lucerne is the gateway to the mountains surrounding the lakeside region. From the historic lakeside villages where William Tell shot the apple up to the eternal snows of the Titlis; from the summit of Lucerne's local mountain, Pilatus, to the lovely countryside beyond - everything is within easy reach at any time of year.

Bregenz Festival

The open-air Bregenz Festival is proud to present world-class theatre in a stunning natural setting.

Lake Constance boat trips

Discover Lake Constance and its surroundings, starting from Bregenz harbour.

Board one of the scheduled "White Fleet" boat services from Bregenz to Lindau, Konstanz, Meersburg, and the Isle of Mainau, or choose from the attractive selection of themed excursions.

Hohentwiel paddle steamer

Experience the Hohentwiel's own brand of magic on a round trip on Lake Constance. Relish the old fashioned flair, the maritime atmosphere on deck and the understated elegance in the salons. And gaze in awe at the mighty steam-driven engines.

The Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen

The Rhine Falls, the biggest waterfall in Europe, are a mind-blowing sight for even the most brazen of visitors. You can approach either from the Schaffhausen side, where the car park is directly next to the waterfall, or down a flight of steps from Laufen Castle.

The Silvretta alpine road

The Silvretta alpine road takes you from the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg, via the Bielerhöhe saddle and the Silvretta range, into the Tyrolean Paznaun valley. The 25.4 km long section between Partenen and Galtür is one of the most popular and attractive mountain roads in the Austrian Alps.
